If you have an existing list of retailers, Prolo makes it simple to import them via a CSV file to get your finder up and running in no time. Just follow the steps below.
In order to begin, your CSV file (what is a CSV file?) must contain the following column headers:
- Name
- Address
- City
- State
- Zip
- Country
- Phone
- Website
- Latitude
- Longitude
The following columns may be blank, but must be included:
- Phone
- Website
- Latitude
- Longitude
The country must be the two letter country code eg US, CA, DE etc. Here's a list if you're not sure. We have created a handy template that you can download to help get you started.
Once you have your CSV file formatted accordingly, log into your Prolo dashboard.
- Login: http://app.prolofinder.com/users/sign_in
- Navigate to Add Locations: Locations → Add → Add Locations from a File
- Now, click ' Choose CSV File ' and locate your csv file on your computer, select it and click ' Upload CSV '
- A new import is created and the retailers you provided are ready to be processed. Generally, this takes 5-10 minutes to complete.
If you do however experience issues while trying to upload a CSV file to Prolo, you may need to update your save-as settings. If you're using common software such as Microsoft Excel, you can change these settings by selecting "save as" from the File menu and selecting "Windows Comma Separated (.csv)" from the format option located in the lower portion of the popup screen. This option will change the file type to one that is more compatible with our import tool. Once you've completed these steps, save your file with a new name and try importing the newly created CSV.
